Gas, water, telecoms and electricity connections in London during 2012
During the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, thousands of athletes, officials and others working at the Games, including the world’s media, will arrive in the Capital.
Transport for London is working closely with the London boroughs and utility providers to ensure these people can get to their events on time.
During Games time and for a period beforehand, we have agreed that no planned roadworks will be carried out on key routes in the Capital. This means that utility connections and diversionary works are unlikely to be able to be undertaken at this time. This embargo on planned road works will affect some roads from March 2012, and others from July 2012, and will cease to be in effect during September 2012.
If you think you may need connections or diversionary works at any point in 2012, you are strongly urged to contact your utility providers as soon as possible to discuss how this may affect you. They will work with you to plan how your needs can be met.
